Bakery Daily-Delivery Forecasting
Forecasting out-of-stock events for a California bakery's daily-delivery model — Python analysis behind Tableau dashboards the operations team actually used. Engagement continued under contract after I rolled off.
A small California bakery delivers fresh product daily, which means their margin lives or dies on how well they predict the next day’s demand. Order too much, throw it out. Order too little, take an out-of-stock hit and disappoint a wholesale customer.
I worked with them on the forecasting side: cleaning historical sales data, building demand and out-of-stock forecasts, and turning the analysis into Tableau dashboards the operations team could actually use day-to-day — not a notebook they’d have to re-run.
The engagement continued under contract after I rolled off, which is the outcome I care about most: the system kept running, and the team kept reaching for the dashboards.
